Kaikoura is a really cool little town. It is right along the ocean, and their city is this small strip that takes about 10 minutes to walk along. They are known for their marine wildlife and offer whale watching, swimming with dolphins, swimming with seals, etc. We couldn't make up our minds on what to do, but we decided to check out the Seal Colony.
This was a little one. Tucked away and sleeping. Totally not caring that were people all around and he was being photographed. The seals here are Fur Seals, since the don't have blubber, they have fur to keep them warm.
SO CUTE! Look at the little ears. Just these big goofy, lazy seals.
Aahh, LOOK. No zoom needed. They were actually just hanging out there. No cage, no barriers. It was so cool. I could have gotten closer, but I was a tad bit to scared too :)
I hope you can see them laying there. I love seals. They were so cute.
