Paritai Drive.

So I have moved to a house in Auckland City. I am flatting with 3 other girls (Jaimee, Renee and Shelby). I live on a street called Paritai Dr, and it is one of Aucklands richest street. There are houses on the street worth over 30 mil, which is just insane and the houses are all so manicured and perfect. The house I live in is older but it has a lot of character and is really cute. While I don't have any pictures of the inside, I thought I would share a few photos :)

The view from the balcony. I love love the view. It's all city and ocean. So great.

What I see when I am waiting for the bus. It sure beats what I see while waiting for the bus in Surrey.

Mission Bay. This is the best beach closest to where I am currently living.

I am only living here for 6 weeks, cause I can't be too tied down while I am in New Zealand. Wish me luck that I can find a good job so I can work for the next 2 months (I need money!) , and then I am jetting off to Australia and Indonesia :)

By popular demand

Hello all. Once again, I haven't posted in awhile, and I do have things to post about, but with the holidays and moving, I have barely had time. I need to spend some extra time to make some great posts, and I don't have that time at the moment. But in the next few days it will come. I'm hoping to book a week holiday in the Cook Islands tomorrow, so wish me luck with cheaps flight and all that.
Much love, and miss you all.
Cheers
Jac :)

Bitten by that bug called travel

I just need to express how excited I am right now.
As most of you have known/assumed, I am going to go to Australia. It just makes sense to go, since I am so close. BUT, yesterday, along with booking my flight to Aus, I also booked at trip to INDONESIA!
I'll be in Bali from the 15-23 of March.

I am incredibly excited, and can't wait to experience another country. Going to Bali will definitely be the culture shock I haven't gotten from being in New Zealand.

Let me tell you, when that travel bug bites you, it bites HARD.
Cheers :)

O Christmas Tree

It was the last night Inge, Nadine, Chantelle and myself were all going to be together, so we decided to do a mini photoshoot with the Christmas tree.

I miss Inge tons. I wish she hadn't of gone back to Sydney :( Oh well, party in Amsterdam!

Inge, Chantelle and myself.

Roadtrippers! I miss these girls.

So cute. The 4 of us had some really great times together.

Haaa. Theses poor guys asked us to take a picture of them with the tree. Which we responded "of course! but then can you take some of us?" They needed up taking about 20 pictures of us, with our 3 different cameras! Haha, it was good fun. Then this happened. I don't know whose idea it was to hold him like that, but we did it anyways!

I miss my NZ friends :(

Best pizza of my life.

On my first night in Christchurch, I went out with a girl named Claire that was in my room at the hostel. We had a drink and then decided we wanted pizza. So, we went on this hunt for Cafe Valentino's, which was recommended to us. It took us about 30 mins to find it, after getting directions a few times, but oh man. It was SO worth it.

Yes. It was pesto, pine nuts, chicken and tomatoes.

Claire ready to eat.

Ready to devour. Best pizza ever. Anyone that goes to Christchuch, you NEED to go to Cafe Valentino's and get a pizza.

Christchurch

Christchurch was the last leg of my little South Island journey. We arrived there a few days earlier than expected, but I'm glad we did. I loved Christchurch. I spent 4 days in this beautiful city and met tons of people. I ran into some guys I met in Queenstown, and met up with Chantelle again. It's amazing how often you run into people while traveling around. I stayed in a hostel and went out to explore the city more everyday with someone I had met in my hostel. It was so great. I cannot wait to get back to Christchurch, and seriously debated staying there instead of going back to Auckland, but who knows, I may go back sooner then I expected.

When I walked out of my hostel, this is what I saw. Cathedral Square. It was always so alive. There was a market on the weekend, were I happily bought sunglasses, a ring and earrings :) There were always street performers (GOOD street performers) and people everywhere. I also had the best hot dog of my life from a little vendor.

The square from another angle.

Some weird thing they had in the square I thought was pretty cool.

This statue was for... um.. I can't really remember lol

The big Christmas tree.

And this is why it is called Cathedral Square. Christchurch Cathedral. Stupid scafolding though! It was still so beautiful.

Inside the Cathedral. We watched a dress rehearsal of the Christmas concert they were putting on that night.

I was harsh geeky crushing on this ginger singer man. He had the best voice and was so funny :)

There was just something so amazing about sitting at Starbucks early in the morning looking across the square with the Cathedral right in my line of vision. I love Christchurch.

South Island Scenery

The South Island is amazing. It is so scenic and covered with mountains, rivers, lakes and there is ocean all around. I flew to the south (to Queenstown) to meet up with Inge and Nadine for 9 last days on the road to adventure around. I apologize that I won't write were many of the places are, cause most of the picutres were taken as I was leaning out the car window. I wish I could remember the area we were in, but we drove through so many places over the 9 days.

On the plane.

This was just outside of Queenstown. People were bungy jumping off the bridge I was standing on. The colour of the water just blows me away.

Hokitiki river.

Once again, the colour is amazing.

Kaikoura.

This was leaving Kaikoura, and on the way to Christchurch. I took a lot more photos, but I really couldn't put them all up.

These pictures don't do New Zealand justice at all. It is almost impossible to capture the true beauty with a little Sony camera, but I tried my best. This is truly a place that needs to be seen with your own eyes.

Gross Gross

I hate to do this. Especially cause I'm not a fan of feet, but I had to show my hate for sandflies. I'm sure most of you have heard about them, but have yet to feel their wrath. Sandflies have been very bad in the South Island, and they love to suck your blood. They look like fruit flies and don't make any sound, but, you can feel it when they bite you. I hate HATE them.

When I took this photo I had 29 bites, JUST on my ankles and feet. Not to mention the ones on my arms and legs. The bites are extremly itchy, but lucky for me, only about 5 of them actually itched. I just had to express my hate for the sandflies.
Thanks :)

I love seals.

Kaikoura is a really cool little town. It is right along the ocean, and their city is this small strip that takes about 10 minutes to walk along. They are known for their marine wildlife and offer whale watching, swimming with dolphins, swimming with seals, etc. We couldn't make up our minds on what to do, but we decided to check out the Seal Colony.

This was a little one. Tucked away and sleeping. Totally not caring that were people all around and he was being photographed. The seals here are Fur Seals, since the don't have blubber, they have fur to keep them warm.

SO CUTE! Look at the little ears. Just these big goofy, lazy seals.

Aahh, LOOK. No zoom needed. They were actually just hanging out there. No cage, no barriers. It was so cool. I could have gotten closer, but I was a tad bit to scared too :)

I hope you can see them laying there. I love seals. They were so cute.

poor roadtrippers style

When all else fails, and you can't find a campsite, you can always all jam into the car and sleep. I slept so bad that night, it was horrible. It started out comfy enough, but when you can't properly stretch or move, it's bad news. Plus waking up with your entire leg asleep is not fun. Haha, oh well. The joys of being a roadtripper.

Insant pancakes cooked on a gas stove with a dodgy frying pan anyone?
:)
